A sonnet for the Broncos loss

i had to write a sonnet for english. im not actually a freak. but it turned out good and the broncos' loss was my inspiration. so here it is.

Struck down are dreams of glory now in pain

Once cherished in the west but now has died

The efforts crushed and now will faint in vain

And no more lives the glory like a tide

To rise to fame and bask in all again

And overtake the sand and wash the toes

Of friends who bleed and watch for them to fend

But back the tide does fall with ghastly blows

And all the friends whose creeks true and just

Flow not into the tide where needed but

Go dry because the enemy does thrust

A sword into the heart where they do cut

Oh woe to us in this where life has turned

The tide does fall and all our hopes are burned

tear. someone hold me.

  • YEEEEAAAAHHHH! GO STEELERS!!!!

I'm sorry. I just had to. Wooo. My whole family called today, we were all screaming on the phone and yelling.... Brittany Burklin probably thinks we are all crazy now. The poor ting just stood in the kitchen while we all flipped out. WOOOO!

sorry, sorry, I hurt for all the Broncos fans. Really, I do.

  • WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA the broncos lost!

    sniff.

good sonnet though. mine turned out being suicidal. so mrs ferrill is going to think i'm a freak. but i'm really not. i promise....

    and i'm not suicidal.

  • that was an awesome sonnet nathaniel.

while emily may not be suicidal, sara has the greater loss and it may make her it this time two weeks from now.

you see, it is more painful to see your team lose in the super bowl to a bunch of rain loving pansies than it is to watch your team lose on a BEAUTIFUL colorado day with awesome high definition scenic shots of the mountains and denver.

  • it is not jake's fault! trust me, I have been a huge critic of his, but the poor guy was having oxygen on the sidelines. he was getting over the flu!

this does not make me hate the broncos; it just makes me hate the steelers. HARD CORE.

    especially that one hairy dude.

  • yeah i totally know who you mean by that one hairy guy on the Steelers.......yuk! I'm not even really into football (Mitch and a few of my other Bronco-fan-friends are the only reason i care), but yeah I watched the first half of the game on Sunday and that was painful even for me. Ouch. I feel bad for the Broncos and all their die-hard fans. :/

  • hey Connor, did I tell you waht Cierra and Ryan were saying the other night at church?

Yeah, so I had no idea that Cierra is so into football, but she was going on about Jake Plummer and finally she goes: UGH! Jake Plummer should go home and kill himself! and then Ryan goes, gimme a gun, I'll do it for him!!

yeah, it was amusing how upset people get over a game.

  • jake rocks. although i can definitely sympathize with fanatics who are upset about plummer leading us to the AFC championship in the first place. yeah whatever. come on people. give the guy some credit. playoffs three years in a row with plummer. toppling the winners of three of the four past superbowls, once in the regular season and once in the playoffs. 13-3 record. actually now that i think about all those things, we do need a new quarterback....

    LONG LIVE JAKE PLUMMER
